It has been officially confirmed. The little 16 year old sister of the infamous Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn Spears, is expecting. The announcement came in yesterday to announce that she is 3 months along with the child of boyfriend, 18 year old, Casey Aldridge.
I honestly wish her the best. Jamie may be young and overinfluenced by her "wild, out of control" sister, but has a bit of responsibility factor to her. Yes, pregnant at 16 is not the most responsible thing to do. She just seems to be lined up a little more straight than other family members. I have never heard of her on a drug quest or a drinking bindge nor have I heard that she does the occasional take and go.
It's unfortunate that she is so young. But teen pregnancies occur in the upwords of 2800 teen pregnancies per day. I hope she has learned from the mistakes that Britney has thrown at the public eye. This may even be a blessing for Britney as well. She needs a little responsibility lesson.
Some are poking fun that Jamie has decided to raise her baby in Louisiana, in order to give it a "normal" family life. What's normal to you? What's normal to the Spears family? They've been raised in the public eye. Cameras everywhere. But the one place that we don't hear much about is them in their hometown. That is where their normalcy thrives. It's the one place that I bet they can be themselves and not be chased around. So I can't blame Jamie for making this decision. I actually commend her for keeping the child and not taking the easy way out. Instead, she is playing the responsible for her actions card. Good for her!
Dysfunctional... yes, no doubt! Yet that word could describe most families in our modern day. Would everyone really be throwing such a fit if it was lil cousin Mary, head cheerleader, no. Would you really notice? The Cleavers grew up, The Brady's... moved on. We need to support our kids when they make bad decisions. Not mistakes.. God doesn't make mistakes and everything happens for a reason. Again... maybe the new little Spears will give a life lesson to Aunt Britney.
Good luck Jamie Lynn.
